Alongside our comprehensive online world, Obsessionistas also curates projects and exhibitions that explore the inter-connectedness of collecting and collections in our contemporary culture. We’re passionate about sharing personal collections, design archives and museum collections with a wider audience, along with the fascinating individual narratives behind them. MIDLAND DESIGN ARCHIVES display at the Birmingham Made Me design expo. Representing a wide range of archival material from the individual collections of key British companies and organisations. (also winner of best overall exhibit - June 2012). For more information click here
MAKE // SHIFT at the National Museum of Science and Technology (Milan). Building on the success of the joint collaboration at Interiors UK, WGSN-Homebuildlife invited Obsessionistas to install the exhibition during Milan’s Design Week (April 2012). For more information click here
CURATED COLLECTIONS at Interiors UK, National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham. An exhibition of a series of curated collections interpreting the three key Macro Trends from WGSN-Homebuildlife for the interiors market. (January 2012). For more information click here
BIAD OBSESSIONISTAS an exhibition of personal collections from across the staff and student community at the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design, exhibited at the prestigious School of Jewellery, situated in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery quarter. Previous to the above-featured exhibitions/displays for Obsessionistas, Graham has been designing, curating, building and installing exhibitions for over 20 years, including projects in collaboration with Triumph Motorcycles, Denby, Cadbury, AGA and Pashley Cycles. He has also exhibited his own three dimensional design work in the Victoria & Albert museum, New York, 3 x London Design Festivals and at a solo show in Royal Leamington Spa Art Gallery.
Talks and Presentations
As course director for the MA Product Design programme at the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design, Graham is well rehearsed in delivering authoritative, entertaining and graphically engaging presentations on a broad range of design based topics (about 30 a year!). His 'Midlands Design Archives' presentation at the Birmingham Made Me design expo was equally well received and attracted an audience of around one hundred people.
